Facing Our Fears

As we face this creepiest part of the year, there’s a lot to be afraid of. While Halloween is considered just good fun for kids and adults alike, what's up with all those creepy clowns? And this year, as November 8 looms, our country has to face its own fears. So whichever way you lean, we urge everyone to get out there and vote!

Writers need to face our fears every day. Whether we're writing about ourselves or putting on masks to embody other characters, it's always a risk. But it's surely one worth taking!

In this turbulent election season when divisive rhetoric threatens to tear the fabric of our nation, The Writers Circle teamed up with Tiferet Journal to host LET ALL VOICES BE HEARD: Writers of Different Faiths Share Their Stories. TWC Director Judith Lindbergh shares her recap of this thought-provoking event.
TWC Sponsors Student Submissions to the 2017 Scholastic Art and Writing Awards!

Teens, don't miss this chance to submit your work to the Scholastic Art & Writing Awards, one of the most prestigious national programs for young creative writers. TWC's teen instructors are looking forward to helping you polish your work. Make sure to send us your drafts no later than Thanksgiving so you'll have time to revise before the Northeast Region-at-Large's December 15, 2016 deadline.

You'll find submission guidelines and full details on the 2017 Scholastic Art & Writing Awards website: http://www.artandwriting.org/.
